Irving calls injuries biggest challenge of career

Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving is suffering from a right foot strain and tendinitis in his left knee and he said it's been one of the most frustrating times of his career, reports Cleveland.com.

"This has been the biggest mental challenge of my career this far and just because I want to do more," Irving said after Tuesday's win. "I want to be that guy for my teammates as well as for Bron... So when you can't do that, when you're limited to certain things, you have to come to grips with it."

Before shooting 9 of 16 from the field in the Game 5 win, Irving had been 5 of 23 from field in Game 3 and 4.

"Game 3 and 4 was probably the biggest challenge for me coming to grips with it because I want to do so much more," he said.

Despite suffering from the foot and knee issues, Irving said he has no plans to miss any games.

"I'm not 100 percent, but I'm going to go out there and play," he said. "Just being in my spot, being able to knock shots down when I'm open."
