The Minnesota Timberwolves won the 2015 NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday. They had a 25-percent chance of getting the No. 1 pick. Most mock drafts predict Kentucky's Karl-Anthony Towns will be selected first overall.
The second pick belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers, who will likely have the opportunity to take Duke big man Jahlil Okafor if they so choose. Ohio State guard D'Angelo Russell and international guard Emmanuel Mudiay are also intriguing at this spot.
The big winners here are obviously Minnesota and the Lakers. The Lakers could have ended the night without a pick in the lottery, but instead they'll now be picking No. 2 in a draft with two terrific big men that have all-star potential. A big swing for them, as this not only will give them a potential franchise-altering player, but it also will extend out the time frame with which they owe the Sixers and Magic future first round picks into drafts that may not be as strong as this one.
Another thing worth noting is that the 76ers were unable to jump either the Heat or Lakers, meaning they will only have one lottery pick despite having the potential to have three prior to the proceedings tonight.
