There's a strong belief that Taj Gibson's flagrant 2 in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's Game 5 between the Cavaliers and Bulls will be downgraded on Wednesday upon review by the league office.
One school of thought is that the scuffle with Matthew Dellavadova warranted only a double-technical (and possibly, a tech for Aaron Brooks, who escalated the situation as the first player into the scrum, shoving J.R. Smith).
Gibson was automatically ejected after the officials assessed a flagrant 2, but replays showed that Gibson wasn't kicking the prone Dellavadova, but rather was trying to free himself from a leg lock.
The ejection proved costly for the Bulls, who gave up a critical offensive rebound to Iman Shumpert in the closing seconds, helping the Cavs seal a 106-101 victory.
