Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has battled injuries this year, as he has for the past three years. But he's also been amazing for Miami, helping keep the team in playoff contention despite the loss of Chris Bosh and Josh McRoberts for the season, and a series of borderline-NBA replacements.
On Thursday night vs. the Cavaliers, Wade slipped on a wet spot on the floor and suffered a knee injury. He immediately grabbed his knee in pain. He limped off the floor and to the locker room and did not return in the first half.
Wade would not return to the game, with Heat PR calling it a left knee bruise. Wade had that knee drained of fluid last Saturday and played on Monday. The Heat are tied with the Nets for the 7th seed in the East. A loss drops them to 8th, with the very distinct possibility of them missing the playoffs if Wade misses any significant time.
