Report: KD reached out to ex-Donovan player

With reports swirling about Billy Donovan potentially becoming the next head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant is doing his own research on the University of Florida basketball coach.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Durant has reached out to "at least one former University of Florida player in the NBA to gain insight into Donovan." This makes perfect sense for the Thunder's franchise player to do. Durant should want to know all that he can about a person he could be working closely with, especially since Thunder GM Sam Presti didn't consult with him when he let former Scott Brooks go.

This was a bold move by Presti. Durant could potentially leave the Thunder in 2016 and he had developed a strong bond with Brooks. Durant even posted a heartfelt message to Instagram about Brooks, after he was let go.

Thank you Scotty!

As reported by CBSSports.com's Ken Berger, Donovan is the Thunder's preferred coach. If he is hired, it sounds like Durant will at least have some knowledge and feel for what type of coach Donovan will be.
