If Knicks president of basketball operations Phil Jackson asked to meet with Pistons center Greg Monroe during the offseason to discuss a contract, Monroe said he'd be willing to schedule a meeting, reports ESPNNewYork.com.
"If they're interested, I'm going to," Monroe said.
Monroe previously denied a report that he had already made his decision to join the Knicks once he becomes an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. However, he did express an admiration for what Jackson has been able to accomplish during his time with the Lakers and Bulls.
"[Jackson's] been where everybody dreams about going when they play in this league," Monroe said. "He knows and understands what it takes to win."
Despite his affinity for Jackson, Monroe said he could also see himself returning to Detroit. He added that he doesn't expect his decision to take long.
