After the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, Kobe Bryant said he would consider sitting out for a bit to rest his sore body, via Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears. Lakers head coach Byron Scott said he'd talk to Bryant about it. Guard Nick Young chimed in with an obvious solution to the problem, via USA Today's Sam Amick.
"Hats off to (Bryant), still going out there every night and trying to do his best," Young began before offering his solution. "Just give me the ball, and that's what could happen. I'm always down to take over the load. Let me, let Wayne (Ellington) take a couple shots. But majority, just give me the ball."
"(Bryant) still goes out there at night and tries to give his best. We need Kobe out there, and he knows it. But he don't need to kill himself. That's what I'm here for."
So, Nick Young would like more opportunities to shoot the basketball. Imagine that. Anyway, that's a brilliant quote, and Young has been scoring pretty well lately. He had a team-high 26 points on 7-for-14 shooting against the Kings, while Bryant shot 8-for-30 for his 25. Young also hit the funniest game-winner of the season nine days ago against the San Antonio Spurs. I see nothing wrong with giving him the ball.
